Saturday,¬†January 12th, 2013; 6 - 8 p.m.
(second Saturday of every month)
Location: United Crescent Hill Ministries Community Center

Following our thoughtfully prepared healthy and plant-based potluck (thank you everyone!), our presentation this month will be given by Dr. Ramesh Gupta, a researcher from the U of L Medical School/Brown Cancer Center. His perennial research shows the power of chemicals in certain healthy foods. His research takes on both cancer and cardiovascular disease. He is not only an excellent communicator and researcher, but is very passionate about all the right things. So then, do you want to share a time with someone on all cylinders? Then attend this event--You are going to want to hear this first hand. Bring a pen while the gettin' is good--or better yet, bring a video-recorder. Time for Q&A will be alloted. You will learn something if you attend--so come! Expect to get inspired and challenged.

Make plans to invite friends/relatives to our welcoming community of those with high plant-affinity.

(See Earthsave Blog for more details.) Why do we care? Because when we learn of things that are working well in the world of food sanity, this inspires us to do even better...and when some things make no sense, then we are informed about where our efforts are needed most through education and grass-roots/direct-action power.

Announcements will be given (pertaining to healthy food and behavior change), music will be played (sometimes live) and stomachs will be happy. Why not come? Why not invite friends?

AGENDA for Saturday:
4:00 PM Free Cooking Class:-- A local chef/foodie will be opening our minds, noses and taste buds to better ways of cooking. Bring this wisdom home with you in your tummy and between your ears!
6:00 PM Plant-based/Vegan/Veggie Potluck :-) and announcements
7:00 PM -- Dr. Ramesh Gupta: Research shows berries make very merry.
8:00 PM Enviro/Health/Food/Ethic music and conversation

The vegetable to be celebrated at this month's potluck is broccoli. This cold-weather veggie is totally healthy, and easy to spice in many ways. Bring an awesome dish of it, or tell a helpful tale. If you bring it to the potluck, we will want to hear what you did with it.
