Sit In, Sing In, Eat In: Earthsave Potluck Outreach

Saturday, January 28th at 6:00 pm

This event is meant to allow veggies to put a smile on your face. Let's see your plant-based dish creations from your new cookbook that you got for Christmas (?)...or just make your "old faithful" and tell us why you love it so much. Take time to make a potluck item in the afternoon and then repast a plant-based meal in the comfort of Shivani and Robert's home near Locust Grove. Join us at this event (open to the public) on Saturday, January 28th at 6:00pm for an evening's eating, conversation, ad hoc presentation that touches the salient aspects of a vegan diet, and then a musical "jam session", starting with songs about vegetables (of course!) with guitar, piano, and any drums, etc that anyone brings.

This event will be held at the pleasant home of Shivani Nandi and Dr. Robert Friedland, 2119 Starmont Road, Louisville KY 40207 (MAP). This is a free event if you bring a plant-based dish. If you do not bring a dish, we will accept your $25 donation per person to the ongoing efforts of Earthsave Louisville! (There will be enough food for everyone; even a bag of carrots and some Kroger hummus is fine, but we try to encourage "home cooking" prior to the shared meal.)

This monthly open-to-public Earthsave event is a gathering of folks who want to eat plant-based foods in various homes and venues around the metro. RSVP, please, and ask for directions if needed. Bring a dish of whatever you feel comfortable making--and let's celebrate the virtues of good, thoughtful food that is wonderfully lowest on the food chain. By all means, please bring your own placesetting as well to ensure sufficient supplies. Come and be convivial!

Gotta love gathering with people who believe that food is a way to show you care--care about health, the planet, and sound ethical behavior! Just bring a salad, side-dish, main dish, or dessert-- or your favorite concoction-- That's why they call it a Plant-Based pot-luck. Let's pass around the vegetarian creations while we pass around a sensical, nurturing sense of well-being. Exchanging recipes and good-will sounds like a plan. Free; open to the public.

Questions, RSVP's and ideas can be fielded by contacting louisville@earthsave.org or a call/text Nate at (502) 299-9520. Mark your calendars for the last Saturday of the month. As always, it should be an awesome event. Find out what EarthSave is all about and what we can all do to help tilt the planet back on its feet using the fork as a lever! Just a beans-and-rice dish or the more elegant soy-cheese ratatoille type dishes--both have full play here. Getting everyone involved involves you!

Would you be interested in hosting? If you have a home that can accommodate up to 15 people, then consider hosting one of these events; contact us by the means listed above. It's really fun to be in other people's meeting/living spaces while sharing good food. Start talking to your peeps about it today!

Simple goal: Home-based monthly potluck gathering (round-robin style, visiting different people's homes). This introduces plant-based foods--by eating them!

Veggies/vegan foods are really tasty!

This event, like all EarthSave events, are free and open to the public; absolutely.

RSVP is not absolutely necessary if you've been before. Newcomers should definately call 502 299 9520 for a very quick orientation/invitation.

Spread the word!
